Soumya Sankar Bose was born in Midnapore, India and received his training in photography from the Pathshala South Asian Media Institute in Dhaka. His work has been shown at the Geothe-Institute Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata (2016), Goa Photo (2015), Delhi Photo Festival (2015) and upcoming at the Houston Center for Photography, in For Freedoms: Margjn and Center (March 9-April 29, 2018).

He has won numerous awards and fellowships including The Toto-Tasveer Emerging Photographer of the Year, India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) grant and Magnum Foundation’s Photography and Social Justice Fellowship.  

Bose’s work has been published in The Telegraph, The Indian Express , Better Photography, Kindle Magazine, Mint Lounge, The Caravan, Wired, A’int-Bad Magazine, Platform, Harmony.
